Vallen Manique & Zane

These two arrive as a package deal, best buddies for years though they are polar opposites. Vallen Manique or Prince Vallen as his best friend Zane often calls him is a young man who also happens to be a lord. His father is a nobleman of some import in the region and that confers the title of young lord upon his head. Vallen is a trained swordsman and archer but prefers to consider himself a woodsman. He is a ranger of sorts, scouting the land in search of people to aid. He is a good soul with a bit of a hero complex. This man is handsome, educated, well-mannered and polite. Though it becomes clear right away that his relationship with his important father is strained, he still seeks to make the world a better place and represent the Manique name proudly. Vallen's tracking skills guide him straight into the thick of things.

This character deals with the idea of image versus internal struggles. He's a symbol of all of us. Even those that appear overly blessed and put together struggle with their own inner demons.

Zane on the other hand is the crass, crude and often dark mercenary. These two have been close since childhood and display an odd if endearing connection. Where Vallen is the hopeful do-gooder with his head in the clouds, Zane is the pessimistic, sarcastic and blunt realist. He is also anti-social and might even be jealous of Vallen's forming friendships. Whatever the case, Zane seems to genuinely care for his friend and seeks to keep him out of trouble. His methods may be harsh but his heart sits in the right place... sorta.
